What if "analogue" and "digital" were reconciled in 2222?

Frugality has never been an end in itself: since the new energy sources have been tapped, technologies have emerged that seem to set hardly any limits to the scope for design. Digital-ambient living environments share people’s enthusiasm with partly primarily analogue ways of life as well as with phases of virtual existence.

Cultures and forms of close living together in large communities are ascribed the same relevance as those of dwellings for small groups or individuals. The conscious choice of human affection for water and pure air, for greenery, for other non-human forms of life, and for the brilliance and transparency of glass, for example, unleashes the design of meeting and resting places.

There are experts in the design of corporeal form, perhaps they are called designers. They help to translate the knowledge of the fundamentally corporeal nature of human beings and the importance of sensuality for a good life into objects and forms of existence. They are thinkers, planners and advisors for the realisation of everyone’s ideas, as well as for the expansion of the boundaries that are often implicitly conceived. Virtual worlds and artificially created counterparts mark special playgrounds where these boundaries are broken.

We use our imaginations, materials and lifetimes for originals, never for copies.
